Skinny and luscious! Imagine my surprise when I discovered that this dessert is healthy and good for you! When pears are ripening in the autumn, look for the plainest type…Bosc. That’s when you’ll know you’ve got the best tasting pear. Bosc pears are the underdog of pears, but, don’t let that discourage you from trying this recipe. It’s so simple yet, so incredibly delicious!
Skinny Roasted Pears with 5 Minute Walnut Sauce

Serves:: 4 Makes: ½ pear per serving
Ingredients:
- 2 large ripe pears, unpeeled
- ¼ t Ground cinnamon
- ¼ C Broken walnuts
- Sauce ingredients:
- 2 T Walnut butter or any nut butter
- 1 T + 1 t Unsweetened Plant protein powder
- ¼ C Unsweetened Silk Almond milk
- 1 T + 2 t Agave nectar
Directions:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- Cut the pears in half and place on a rimmed baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Trim a small slice off the skin side so they will remain stable.
- Using a ½ tablespoon measuring spoon or melon baller, scoop out the seeds.
- Sprinkle cut side very lightly with cinnamon.
- Place walnuts into cavities until slightly overflowing.
- Bake in the lower one third rack of oven so walnuts don’t burn, for 30 minutes.
- Remove from oven, let cool slightly, drizzle with walnut sauce.
