This is a basic bread recipe you can always trust. If you’ve never made homemade bread before, this is a good recipe to begin with. Although time consuming (like all breads) it’s easy and delicious. Be sure to make my easy olive oil dip to accompany this as an appetizer. You’ll love it!
Rosemary Foccacia Flat Bread

This flat bread has been a family favorite for years!

Serves:: (1) 10"x 15" flat bread
Ingredients:
- 2 ¼ t Active dry yeast
- 1 C Warm water (about 110 degrees)
- 1 t Granulated Sugar
- 1 T Extra Virgin Olive oil
- 2 ¾ C All Purpose Flour
- 1 T Dried Rosemary
- 1 t Kosher Sea Salt
- ½ t Onion Powder
- ½ t Garlic powder
Directions:
- Mix the yeast, sugar, oil, and warmed water in a small bowl or glass measuring cup.
- Let rise for 10 minutes (until bubbles begin to form) in a warm area of your kitchen.
- In large bowl, whisk together flour, powders, herbs, and salt; and set aside.
- Add the yeast mix, to the flour mixture bowl, and stir for about 30 seconds.
- When dough has pulled together, turn out onto lightly floured surface and knead for 5 minutes until smooth and elastic; then shape into a ball.
- Lightly oil a large bowl with olive oil cooking spray, place dough in bowl, and turn over to coat with oil.
- Cover bowl with damp cloth and let rise in warm place for 1 ½ hours, or until doubled in size.
- Punch dough down in bowl, place dough on greased or silpat covered baking sheet.
- Gently pat dough into ½-inch thick rectangle (doesn’t have to be perfect).
- Using your knuckle, make indentations in the dough about ½-inch apart, then prick dough with fork.
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
- Cover dough and let sit for another 25 minutes in a warm place or until it reaches the desired thickness.
- Spray top with olive oil cooking spray.
- Bake 15-17 minutes, or, until lightly browned.
