You’ll love these! The high cooking temperature and not over-handling the biscuits make these soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. If you’d prefer the savory version, go ahead and add the garlic, rosemary and cheddar cheese to the dough. You’ll love it for breakfast, lunch or dinner! Otherwise, make the recipe as-is and split them open to top both sides with butter and jam or, with cream cheese and honey. It’s so good!

Super easy biscuits and several variations for sweet or savory versions.

Serves:: 6 biscuits
Ingredients:
- 2 C All Purpose flour
- 3 t Baking powder, aluminum free
- 3 t Granulated sugar
- 1 t Kosher sea salt
- 1⁄3 C Olive oil
- 2⁄3 C Whole milk
- Sweet Option#1: Brush a bit of warmed honey on top of each biscuit before baking, and add a total of 2 T sugar to dough, if desired.
- Sweet option #2: Add 1 T Orange zest, another T of sugar and ½ Cup of dried cranberries to dough. Sprinkle with 1 T sugar on top, then bake.
- Savory Option: add 1 t Garlic powder, 1 teaspoon of dried Rosemary, 1 T fresh cut chives & ½ cup of grated mild cheddar cheese to dough before baking.
Directions:
- Pre-heat oven to 475 degrees F.
- Mix dry ingredients together with a whisk.
- Put oil in measuring cup and add milk. Do not stir.
- Add to dry ingredients.
- Mix lightly with a fork to moisten ingredients and nearly form into a ball, do not over mix just until
- dough is moistened.
- Knead one or two times to form a ball.
- With a large ice cream scoop, scoop out about 6 balls.
- Gently flatten balls slightly, until about ½ “thick with a flat spatula, If desired. (they will double in height)
- Bake on an un-greased parchment lined baking pan at 475F for 8-10 minutes, or, until browned as desired.
- Allow to cool slightly on the baking sheet over a wired rack.
- Serve warm.
