There are many ways to roast carrots: whole, sliced, with or without oil, with spices or just salt, with or without garlic. But let me tell you one win-win option and share ideas on what to make with baked carrots.
How to properly bake carrots?
Step 1. Wash them well and maybe even brush them if you bake them in the skin.
Step 2. Cut it into slices or bars (if you want to cook it faster), or use it just like that. Well, or leave whole if we want mashed carrots or slice after cooling.
Step 3. Place the slices on a parchment tray or on foil that we wrap them in.
Step 4. Drizzle with oil, sprinkle with spices and/or dried herbs.
Step 5. put in preheated oven at 180-200 degrees on convection mode. Depending on the size the carrots will bake for 15-60 minutes. Check for readiness by piercing with a knife or skewer.
There are a lot of variations. I usually use what I have on hand or specifically pick up some flavor.I can tell you my favorite options and you will use them or put together your own:
- Ginger + sugar + dried garlic
- Curry + paprika
- Zira + fresh garlic
- Paprika + cumin
- Orange juice + cinnamon
- Nutmeg + cloves + sugar
