Made these on a cool morning when I needed something warm and comforting to serve health conscious guests for breakfast. These are healthy but they taste indulgent. Serve these with some delicious jams or honey and your guests will be delighted and satisfied.
Crispy Chia Flax Whole Wheat Bisquits

Ingredients:
- 2 C Whole wheat pastry flour
- 2 T Baking powder
- 3 t Sugar
- 1 t Kosher salt
- 1 T Golden Flax seeds
- 1 T Chia seeds
- ¾ C 2% Milk
- ¼ C Unsalted Butter
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
- Whisk together flour, baking powder, sugar and salt into a medium mixing bowl.
- Add milk and butter.
- Mix with a fork, until it comes together like a sticky ball; mixing as little as possible.
- Turn the dough out onto a floured surface.
- Gently pat down the ball and fold it over on itself.
- Loosely cover the dough with a clean kitchen towel and let it rest for 30 minutes or so. (if you have time to wait)
- Being careful not to overwork the dough, roll it out until it is about ½” to ¾” thick.
- Cut dough into 2 ½” circles and place on an ungreased baking sheet.
- Bake until lightly golden brown for about 14 minutes.
- Remove from baking sheet and keep warm until serving.
